BD Power builds transmissions for trucks that tow heavy loads and pull out high engine horsepower and torque.
The best quality clutch bands are used for the high torque loads, heavy duty struts designed to handle the high application pressures are installed, the front pump is resized to eliminate internal leaks, and all bushings are replaced. The torque converter is matched to the front bushing.
The valve body specifications are achieved by machining larger governor bores, new manual plunger with our specifications are used, solenoids are updated, new fiber check balls are used and springs with special tension specifications are used. The valve body is tested separately on an Answermatic 2000 machine.
A BD transmission is tested with a matched converter to ensure that the front bushing is sized to the converter to eliminate leak back or bushing problems.
BD offers complete exchange transmission kits with:
- A BD torque converter matched to the specific transmission to eliminate front bushing problems, internal leaking
- A BD PressureLoc kit to boost line pressure above what the transmission setting can be when the converter is locked up
- A Mag Hytech pan for increased oil capacity improved cooling and better housing support
